....it's Whitney Heckathorne! So not all of you may know Whitney but she's one of my best friends from college. She's big time in New York and works for a PR Research agency. Ever heard of something called the Harris Poll? Yeah, that's her and her co-workers. Anyway, in a fun social media/video push, Whitney and a co-host were charged with the assignment of heading out into the NY community to talk about TV and Movie entertainment. Here's what they found out:

Lazy Saturday Afternoon...
This past weekend was the first weekend in months that Matthew and I haven't had something to do. As a matter of fact, after we had an early lunch we looked at each other and said, "What are we going to do for the rest of the day?" It was a weird, yet welcome feeling. Then, Matthew came up with an idea to go to the beach for the afternoon! It was in the high 60's and a beautiful day. So, we went home, packed up a few things and then headed out to Pensacola Beach. We played some frisbee, walked up and down the beach and just sat and enjoyed the sound of the water. It was a lot of fun. I have to admit that it was a VERY foreign feeling to me...just making the 20 minute drive to the beach, but I think it's something I can get used to. ;) Below are some of our beach pictures for your viewing pleasure.

OK, so you probably can't really see it, but these girls are wearing bikinis! It was warm, but not THAT warm!

Playin some frisbee!

I'm hard core.

Pondering....

V-Day
Matthew and I had an eventful first married Valentine's Day. My aunt and uncle had gotten us a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants in Destin so Matthew and I decided to make the drive to Destin for our Valentine's Day. We headed out a little bit early to hit up some of the local outlet stores there. It was huge! We had a couple of hours to kill in the outlets stores, but only made it through half of it. It was so big!
After piddling through the outlet stores, we went to our Valentine's dinner. Our dinner reservations were at this restaurant called Marina Cafe. It was beautiful and delicious! It sat right on the bay with tons of boats docked right in front of the restaurant. We got a table right by the window and were able to look out onto the lights reflecting off the water. It was so pretty. The food was great too! Now, for those who know me really well, you know that I'm not a huge seafood person, but moving to Florida, that will have to change. So I took a big leap of faith and decided to try something totally new for dinner. I had their swordfish....and it was SOOO good! I loved it! Matthew had a redfish. We had such a great dinner just relaxing and enjoying great food. It was a very memorable first Valentine's day and now we've got another great restaurant to add to our list. Thanks Aunt Lesa & Uncle Wayne!

SEC Country
Living in Florida isn't the best place for a Sooner fan. I have settled deep within SEC country. It's a fact of life that I'm coming to live with, but it's not easy. I miss my Sooners and all the Sooner regalia, but I'm still holding proud. Just to give everyone a glimpse of what I encounter every day, see the pictures below. Guess there's only one thing to say.....BOOMER SOONER!!!

WAR EAGLE!! It's Matthew's Alma Mater so I've become a fan. :)

OK, so you can't see it, but on the back of this car there's a sticker that says, "God must be a gator because the sun is orange and the sky is blue." Ha, wow...

Unlike many of my other Sooner friends, Florida I can handle. I actually kind of like Florida....blasphemy, I know.....

There are a LOT of these "A"'s around here....

And yes, in case you forgot, Alabama did win the national championship....
Finally, to cap it all off....I just couldn't bring myself to put any type of picture of this school on my blog. I REALLY do not enjoy seeing any sweatshirts, mascots, or bumper stickers promoting this university.....ugh.....LSU..... I cringe anytime I see anything relating to that school..... I know my fellow Sooners will agree with me.
".....OU's chant will never die. Live On University!"

A Special Sunday
This past Sunday was a very special Sunday. Our neice Katherine got baptized. It was especially fun for Matthew and me because we made it a total surprise that we were coming to the baptism. My brother and sister-in-law nor my neice knew that Matthew and I were coming. We had planned it with Matthew's parents, so they knew we were coming and they gave us the details of the event. We got up bright and early on Sunday morning (5am!) and drove the 4 hours it took to get us there. It was such a great day and a fun surprise for Neil, Jennifer and Katherine. But it was great for us to get to spend some time with them. It was such a special moment to watch Katherine get baptized and realize that as her family we are responsible for helping spur her on in her walk with Christ. I truly felt honored to be a part of such a special moment.
After church, we all went back to Neil and Jennifer's for a delicious lunch that Jennifer had prepared. Once we had indulged, we changed clothes and went out back to play with Katherine on her new Christmas gift - a trampoline. My brother and I had one growing up and used it all the time. It brought back some fun memories, but needless to say I'm not 12 anymore! I couldn't believe how winded I was after just a few minutes of jumping! It was a lot of fun though!
Below are pictures of the church where Katherine was baptized and then some pics we snapped of each other.
