Our First Visitor

This past weekend Matthew and I had our first official visitor to Pensacola!! Who was it? Drumroll please......Miss Whitney McLean!!! Whitney is my college roommate. For those of you who don't know, when I went to OU I didn't have any really close friends going who I wanted to room with. So, I chose to go "pot luck." And what a great decision that was! I ended up meeting Whitney Jane McLean in the Couch dorm. It was definitely a foreign experience living with and sharing a bathroom with someone you had just met, but before we knew it, we became great friends. After I lived in the Chi O house for 2 years, Whitney and I joined forces again and lived together for another year and a half. Whitney has been such a blessing in my life and it was so much fun for Matthew and me to have our first visitor. We did a lot of eating and a lot of talking (no weekend with old roommates would be complete without that)! I feel truly blessed that God placed such a great woman in my life to support and encourage me. I love telling people about how my "pot luck" college roommate is one of my best friends and was in my wedding, etc. It makes me realize how perfect God's plans are when we just trust Him! Here are a few of my favorite pics with Whit:

The Past Month

Lots has been going on the past month, so I'll just start from the beginning and work my way forward. My birthday was earlier this month and right around Easter, so Matthew and I went to his parents' house for Easter. We got there on the Friday before Easter. We pulled up around 8pm and as we were walking to the door, I turned to Matthew and said, "Man, it's really dark in their house." Normally there's lights on, etc. Well, as we opened the door, we were welcomed with "SURPRISE!!!!" My mother & father-in-law, sister & brother-in law and niece were all there! They had thrown me a small surpsie b-day party! It was so thoughtful of them! I didn't know that my sister & brother-in-law and niece were going to be there so that was a lot of fun! Easter was also great and good to be with them all! Here are some pictures from that:

Matthew and I also did our own little birthday celebration when we got back. There's a great restaurant here in Pensacola called The Fish House. It sits on a bay and has a deck and is a really great atmosphere.

Then a couple of weeks later, Matthew and I made a quick trip back to Oklahoma. It was a short trip, but we went back for my best friend's baby shower. She is SO cute! We had a lot of fun spending time with my family and with Amy and her husband. The shower was also a lot of fun too! That was the first time I had seen Amy pregnant - meaning seeing her belly. I just kept staring at her the whole time to try to get used to it! ha! But I did get to feel her baby move and that was exciting!!! Amy and Aaron are keeping the baby's sex a surprise so we call the baby "AJ" for Amy Jr. or Aaron Jr. Can't wait for the baby's arrival!
